3d printed Hydroponic Plant grower

Designed by Dowse and 3d printed from recycled plastic in London.

This innovative 3d printed cone is designed for growing herbs, bulbs and ornamental plants using the simple principles of hydroponics. No soil is needed as this method only requires water and allows you to see the growing process of the stems and the roots of your plants.

Take any glass or empty jar and place your cone grower on top. Filling to cover the roots or bottom of the seed or bulb.

Ideas for growing.

Avocado, Lychee
Carefully cut your fruit in half and remove the stone. Making sure you don't damage it.
Plant immediately after taking it from the fruit, with the flat end pointing down.
Fill the glass so the stone is covered with water to a third of its length.
Place. on a window sill or other sunny spot.
Make sure the stone never dries out, so it must be watered on regular basis.
A seed should start to root and a sprout in about four weeks, sometimes up to
six weeks. An avocado plant can be grown in a glass of water for up to four
years. But removing and planting in to soil before roots take over the glass is recommended.
Avocado & lychee plants are best grown in warm conditions.  Water your plant at least once a week.

Garlic
Choose a bulb of garlic with at least one sprout at the top. This way your garlic bulb will start growing sooner.
Put the bulb of garlic the flat part down in your cone.
Fill the glass with water so that the bottom of the bulb just touches the surface.
Once the roots start growing, the amount of water can be decreased.
You can cut the green sprouts (the spring garlic) as they grow and use them
to season your dishes.
Onions
An onion should be planted and grown in the same way as garlic (see
above).
A bulb of onion can be grown for up to one year. Cut spring onions
whenever you need it and use it to season your food.
3. Change water at least once a week.
Bulbs
Place a bulb in the cone.
Fill the glass until the bulb just touches the water surface.
Once the roots start growing, the amount of water can be decreased.
Herbs
Keep your store bought herbs fresh and growing. Place a bunch of cut herbs in the cone and add water. Your herbs will start rooting within a few days.
Rooting
Place plant cuttings in the cone and add water. You can use
some rooting stimulator if desired.
When the cutting starts to root, decide whether you want to plant it in soil or keep growing it hydroponically.
